Johann Paulus was employed as Pastor and School Teacher. Records exist which show he was Pastor in Alstetten (later Altenstadt, now Alstadt) 1624-1635; 1625-1632: School teacher at Homburg; 1635: Fled the 30 Year War to Saarbrucken & Metz; 1645: Pastor at Kallstadt near Bad Durkheim; 1647: School teacher in Basel, Switzerland; 1647-48: Pastor at Allstadt - Later Pastor at Altenbaumberg (near Bad Kreuznach). Paulus died before 1676 - according to marriage record of a child, Wallrath, prior to publishing marriage bans for Walrath & Anna Catherina in 1676. He married Barbara Schumacher of Basel, a d/o Hans Schumacher and wife Ages Ruoff, who was bpt. at St. Elisabeth, Basel 18 Jan 1618. Source: A:D

Protestant Churchbook, Saarbruecken, Volume 1/ 219 / 970:
Johann Paulus Wohlleben, pastor in "Alstadt" (other suburb) baptized a son Walrath born/baptized 20.10.1648. Godfather: count Walrath of New-Saarbruecken (?), titled landowner Philip Georg von Pisporth (Moselle?), high magistrate here and Anna, wife of Hans Thomas Bruch. Source: A
