of Columbia Co. In the State of Penn who was a Private in the company commaned by Captain Miller of the Regt. Commanded by Col. Thompson in the N. Jersey militia line for 8 months.
Inscribed on the roll of Pennsylvania at the rate of $26.66 per annum, to commence on the 4th day of March, 1831.
Certificate of Pension ifsued the 10th day of Nov 1835 and sent to Danville,
PA.
On the 21 day of Jany A.D. 1834 personally appeared in open Court before the Judges of the said Court of Common Pleas in and for the County of Columbia aforesaid, now sitting, Christian Willever, a resident of Madison Twp., in said County, aged 78 years who being duly sworn according to Law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the pensions made by act of Congrefs pafsed June 7, 1832,
that he entered the service of the United States in the Militia of New Jersey in Greenwood Twp., Sufsex County in said State and was drafted in June 1776 and marched to Bom__de (?) where he served 1 month under Capt. John Petty, that in August of the same year he was drafted in a company commanded by Low Miler and marched to Amboy where served 1 month and during this service distinctly heard the cannonade of the Battle of Long Island -
that he was drafted again in November in a company commanded by Andrew Melick and marched to Morristown where he served 1 month and during this service heard of the retreat of Genl. Washington and his army through New Brunswick from some of the New Jersey Militia belonging to the main army, whose time of service had expired and who pafsed through Morristown; that he was drafted again in January and served 1 month in a company commanded by Capt. John Petty and marched to Morristown where the main army under Genl. Washington was there stationed and joined Col. Thompson Regiment and Gen. Heard (?) brigade.
That on the expiration of this month he volunteered in a company commanded by Capt. Macky and Lt. Clifford and served 2 months in February and March and was in the battle of Elizabethtown, when Cornwallis was defeated and obliged to retire to Amboy and the remainder of the time was stationed near Amboy when the British were closely in_____ during the winter,
that he was drafted again in June and served 1 month in a company commanded by John Maxwell and marched to the neighborhood of Amboy and during this service the British left Amboy and the America troops took pofsefsion of it. That he was drafted and served 1 month in a company commanded by _____ Martin and marched to Elizabethtown in October of the same year where he was stationed during the month - That in April, 1778, he was drafted and served 1 month in Amboy in a company commanded by Capt. Fenond (?) who died and we elected Lt. Clifford in his place - in June 1779 he was drafted and served 1 month in a company commanded by Capt. Winters in Morristown where the company was stationed making in all 10 months. He was drafted 8 months, a volunteer 2 months.
And the said deponent further states that he is now old and infirm and from lofs of memory cannot state the particular dates of his entry and the times of his discharge from the service and that he has no hesitation in deposing that he served under

Personally came before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, Adam Welliver of Madison Twp., Columbia Co. & State of Pennsylvania, and being sworn according to law, deposed & say that he is well acquainted with Christian Welliver residing in the same place and was well acquainted with the said Christian Welliver in the time of Revolutionary War, that he served 5 terms in the militia of the State of New Jersey (in company with deponant) and further saith not. 20 day of May 1835 - I do certify that Adam Welliver the above deponant is a man of good repute forwith and is entitled to credit. Witnefs my hand .... Cabl Thomas, JP

Personally appeared Peter Ephland of Mount Pleasant Twp. In said
County who being duly sworn doth depose and say, that he knew Christian
Welliver in the Revolutionary War and that he served 1 month near Amboy to
deponent's personal knowledge, but he does not remember the Captain he
served under - he also saw the said Christian Welliver at Morristown during
1 month in the service of the New Jersey Militia - and that the said
Christian was also on another term of the Malitia near Elizabethtown in New
Jersey - that these terms were during the years 1776 & 1777 - he does not
particularly remember the time or the names of his officers - said deponent
- says also that he thinks the said Christian was also out 1 or 2 other
tours but he cannot now from lofs of memory tell the particulars of the
service.
