DECLARATION IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE BENEFIT OF AN ACT OF CONGRESS PASSED JUNE THE 7TH 1832:

GREEN COUNTY :

On this 29 day of January 1834, personally appeared in open Court before the Cour tof Pleas and Quarter Sessions of the County aforesaid now sitting, Phillip Wolever, a resident of the county of Greene and State of Tennefsee, aged 83 years, who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress pafsed June the 7th 1832 -

That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers and served as stated that he was drafted (for a 3 months tour) in Berks Co. PA, and served under Captain John Lasher, or in company commanded by him - in a Regiment commanded by Henry Speaker - The company under the command of Captain John Lasher to which this declarant belonged, marched from Reading in Berks Co., PA (with 2 other companies under the command of Captains Miller and Furee) to Bethlehem, thence Elizabethtown and thence to the town or city of Amboy - or Perth Amboy in the state of New Jersey where this declarant remained in service until his tour of 3 months expired...
