WOHLEBEN, Nicolas & Margaret / WOOLIVER, Henry & Auriela / OLCOTT, Joseph Jr. & Franklin 4-27-96
I am researching a WOHLEBEN family who lived in the area of Sullivan/Lenox New York beg. in the 1790-1810 time frame, until late 1800's (1884 and 1897 still there). I am looking for the father of a Henry Wooliver b.1825 Oneida, NY; d. 6 May 1884 Sullivan, NY; m. Elizabeth Hensdale bef 1851. He was in the Civil War and served with the 20th Ct. Vol. Inf. Co. G (no pension records exist, he was denied). Henry had a sister Auriela Ann - b. 2 Jan 1823 NYS; d. 22 Jan 1849 NYS; m. John Suits.

Their mother was Sebra A. (Austra?) and father unknown WOHLEBEN (possibly Nicolas Wohleben - b. 2 Aug 1795 d. 19 Jan 1836/7). After her 1st husband's death, Sebra remarried a Joseph Olcott, Jr. (her brother-in-law) on 6 May 1836. (Joseph's 1st wife, Margaret Wohleben b. 13 Nov 1792; d. 26 Nov 1835, was the sister of Sebra's husband, unknown WOHLEBEN. Joseph Olcott and Margaret Wohleben were m. abt 1815.) From this 2nd marriage, Henry and Auriela Ann had a half brother, Franklin Olcott - b. 1837 NYS; d. 1906 Madison Co. NY. In 1868 Franklin Olcott was living in Sullivan, NY per his fathers will.

In the 1860 Census Henry is shown in New Haven, CT, with his wife and 3 children. There are no more "official" traces of Henry or 2 children (Jennie b. 1851 & James F. b.1856) after that census (although we know his grave marker is in Oneida Lake Cemetary, Sullivan, NY). The third child is my ancestor, George H. Woliver, Sr. - b.31 July 1853 d.29 June 1935. George was born, lived, and died in CT. The 1860 Census shows the others were born in NY State. Any help you may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated. Contact George Woliver III george.woliver@snet.net.

WILLEVER, Margaret or Maria, wife of Joseph S. CALL 8/10/97
I am searching for Margaret or Maria S. Willever of Phillipsburg, Warren county, NJ, who married Joseph S. Call. They had a daughter, Elizabeth Maria, who married John Morris Cook. John was born in Philadelphia, the son of George Cook and Elizabeth Gilinger, but John and Elizabeth lived in New Jersey. If someone has access to 1850 through 1900 Census Records in NJ, the listings for Joseph Call and his wife would help place this Margaret or Maria.

They are the parents of my grandmother, Helen Violet Cook. Helen was born in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, NJ, 8 May 1895 and married Ed Bishop, Sr. They had 5 children, one of whom died in infancy. He deserted her, and she then met Walter DeHaas Chatham, Sr., my grandfather. Walter was born 13 Oct 1897 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, PA. He met Helen in Philadelphia in 1919, and they were married 15 Feb 1920. They had 2 children, my dad (named for his father) and my aunt Hazel. They moved to Easton, PA (Northampton County) where my father was raised. I am sorry that I only have the names and that my info is so sketchy, but I would really like some help in locating some documentation on my family. My parents are dead, and my grandparents as well. I found the above connection in the LDS Archives. Any cousins out there? If so, email me---Betty Horn at slnsq@cc.usu.edu. Thanks for your time.
