The plastic combed DUDE HARP
The plastic combed DUDE HARP economically achieves tightness and comfort. This DUDE may just be the harp for you.
Shown is the plastic comb manufactured to accommodate 9 reed-plate fastening screws. In the rear are the old wood comb and its seven nails. Notice the wood comb has no fastening for the front of the reed plates. Pretty hard to keep things tight that way!
The reed plate contact surface of every plastic comb is sanded smooth & flat to remove any imperfections and allow for a sure seal.
Notice how well everything fits into the recessed plastic comb. The front of the covers are reformed to close those frustrating end gaps and then tucked between the comb and reed plates. Not seen in this photo is the perfect alignment of the Marine Band factory cover mounting screw location and the plastic combs screw bosses. I'm still amazed at how well this combination works.
The rear of the covers are reformed for maximum sound. These Dudes are hot!
